If you are transferring to CLA from another college on the Twin Cities campus, you are in the right place! Your New Student Checklist on mycla.umn.edu will guide you through your transition to CLA. Read on for the details.

  • ** Use your New Student Checklist online at mycla.umn.edu to tell us about yourself, decide if you need to take placement tests, learn about CLA degree requirements and policies, and explore opportunities for CLA students. We will assign you to an advising student community based on the information you provide, and e-mail your adviser's name and contact information to your University e-mail account.
  • ** Schedule an appointment with your adviser as soon as your receive your e-mail with contact information. Complete the remaining steps on your To-Do List before you meet with your adviser.
  • ** Take placement tests online. Depending on your goals, skill level and previous course work, you may need to take a placement test in French, German, or Spanish.
