Transfer Students

To assist you in your transition to the U, we have developed a personal, online To-Do List and an information-packed Orientation & Registration program for you. Your To-Do List will guide you through the steps you need to take to prepare for Orientation and track your progress for you.

5 easy steps:

1. Tell us about your self in a brief questionnaire.
2. Sign up for an orientation date.
3. Take online placement tests in math, chemistry, French, German or Spanish, as appropriate.
4. Learn about opportunities for transfer students.
5. Explore online resources like the course search, class schedule, and graduation requirements.

Watch the mail for more information about using your personal To-Do List.

Tips for transfer students:
  • Send final transcripts to the Admissions office showing final grades or a recently awarded associate of arts (A.A.) degree.
  • Contact Disability Services at (612)626-1333 (V/TTY) for information about disability-related accommodations.
  • International students, attend the International Student Orientation Program.
  • If you are transferring from another college on the Twin Cities campus and have completed 60 credits, you must declare your major before you can register. Contact the department offering your proposed major. For information about CLA majors, see the CLA Courses and Majors page or the Undergraduate catalog.
