Placement TestingTo help you begin coursework at the appropriate level, the university provides placement testing in math, chemistry, and second language. With your test results, your college adviser will be able to discuss with you during your Orientation where you can best begin coursework in these and related subjects. All placement testing needs to be done before you come to the University for Orientation.Math placement testing Nearly all freshmen are expected to take a math placement test. You do not need to take a math placement test if you have earned college credit in calculus. Math placement testing FAQ Your username and password for the placement test are on your personal New Student Checklist (it is NOT the same as your University InternetID and password). When you are ready, go to the placement testing web site. Chemistry placement testing Take the chemistry placement test if you are planning a science-based major or professional program, such as pre-medicine or pre-nursing. You do not need to take the chemistry test if any of the following statements is true:
French, German and Spanish testing Meeting the CLA second language requirement is required of all students completing the bachelor of arts, bachelor of fine arts in art, and bachelor of individualized studies degrees.Take an Entrance Proficiency Test (EPT) if you have completed 3 or more years of high school or 1 year of college study in French, German, or Spanish and plan to continue studying that language. You must pass the EPT in order to register for French, German, and Spanish courses at the second year level (usually 1003-1004) or higher. You do not need to take the EPT if any of the following statements is true:
